SailGP
SailGP leveraged Meshh insights to better understand visitor behavior based on ticket type.
The Challenge
For the New York City Sail Grand Prix on Governor’s Island, SailGP wanted to gain insight into how a day in the life varies across different ticket type holders including general admission guests, grandstand ticket holders, and VIPs. SailGP also wanted to understand the effectiveness of their sponsored assets, concert experiences, and experiential components added to the event. Lastly, sensors were placed outside the venue to measure potential expansion opportunities for the following year.
Implementation
Meshh deployed over 25 Spatial Analytics sensors at the event throughout the fanzone, at various food and beverage locations, hospitality areas, sponsor activations, grandstands, and ferry entrances.
Insights + Actions
- Custom analysis across each ticket type to analyze how and where engagement time was spent across the venue.
- Sponsor comparison and location analysis to fuel renewal conversations and inform YoY pricing and location strategy.
- Operational data on arrival and departures times along with travel times from ferry entrances to the venue to better inform staffing and programming.
- Measure performance for the concert appearance across ticket types to better understand how effective the concert was in retaining visitors and across what ticket type.
- Identify the number of devices during race times outside the venue across each day to potentially expand the site for next year’s race.
